Since 1963, Osland has been part of shaping the Norwegian aquaculture story as one of the first pioneers.
What began as a bold idea in western Norway has grown into generations of trout expertise.

A heritage means little if one does not also create a legacy to be proud of.

For us, our heritage is the very foundation on which we build our future. A responsibility to continuously improve our fish, the craft and the environment we all share, every day.

FROM THEN TO NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE

Norwegian aquaculture has changed.
So have we.

But the mindset behind Osland has remained the same: stay curious, learn from the fish, improve with knowledge and never stop moving forward. Knowledge sharing and cooperation within the aquaculture industry has always been important for our development.

EARLY 1960S - THE PIONEERS

Erling saw potential in the cold clear waters of the Sognefjord.

Our story began with Erling, the grandfather of today’s owner, started to develop trout farming in his home village of Bjordal in the early 1960’ies. At this time fish farming was just beginning in Norway, and the pioneers pretty much had to start from scratch and learn as they went along.

Through perseverance and hard work over many years he not only made the foundation of what Osland has become today, but also for Norwegian aquaculture as a whole.

THREE GENERATIONS

That pioneering spirit has never left us.

Through three generations, and the fourth one coming in, the Osland family and Team Osland have continued to develop the company, the fish and the knowledge behind it.

Not by forcing nature, but by adapting and learning from it in ways that protects the environment and provides good fish welfare resulting in high quality Osland trout.

Osland Origin is part of this legacy.

Today’s owner Erik Osland and his wife Sissel are visionaries, building a global brand based on local values and their family’s heritage.

A premium trout rooted in origin, raised with care and selected for the qualities that matter most: beautiful colour, refined texture, clean taste and consistent quality.

Osland is proudly owned by a third-generation Norwegian fish farmer, Erik Osland with his wife Sissel, daughter Cornelia and son Einar. To this day, the Osland name is behind the quality we provide globally.

Osland Origin is created by the entire Team Osland family, people dedicated to producing the best quality trout every dag, 365 days a year. This allows us to always improve and carry our legacy forward.
